By your comments, assume I am communicating with people in Britain - Europe?

BACKGROUND

We have an older (1981) Dometic 3-way Fridge.  Think an RM182a

The little cooling fan for the exterior condenser fins burnt out, last year.

Replaced it with new 4 x 4 (desk - top 'puter sized) cooling fan.Ordered off eBay and Made for Dometic.

Also replaced the thermal switch. It came with the new fan.Controls the 12V power to the fan.

Thermal Switch, which is button sized, is normally open (no power flow), and is screwed to the external refer evaporation fins.

SPECS
Per the Dometic manual for this model: Thermal Switch is to allow 12V to pass to the fan when the temp goes above 124 degrees Fahrenheit. It keeps the fan on, until the fin temp drops below 104 degrees Fahrenheit, when it switches off.

PROBLEM

The new switch cycled both on and off at 90 degrees Fahrenheit!Continuous cycling. In this desert, in the summer months, it was on continuously as the ambient temperature often is above 90 degrees.

Put on old switch. It does not work at all.Maybe burnt with the fan.

NEED

Thermal Switch, NO, closes contact on reaching 124 degrees F, then opens contacts when cooled to 104 degrees F.

Any ideas where can I purchase a new or used working Thermal Switch.Have tried Dometic here in USA and a few other places; no luck.

Phil @ Edwards AFB, Mojave Desert, CA
