It is a nice park with plenty of shade and grass. The amenities are plentiful and very clean.
We have just had the best night in ages. Bush poet during happy hour, he's the bloke who wrote that poem about caravans and early morning pack ups. Think it was on the forum somewhere, very funny,.
He was followed by a bloke named Geoff Evans who has a really lovely voice and he sang all the songs of our era - 60'd type stuff. He also did songs for the kids that were there. He has CD's for sale and we couldn't decide which one to get so we are getting all 8 tomorrow night. Buy 7 get one free. Good value at $15 each I thought especially as it's the music we like.
He has asked Rob to sing with him tomorrow night so you can be sure I will be taking the camera along and will post the appropriate snapshots.
The seafood mix with a bottle of sav blanc went down well too.
Thanks for the advice, Ma. We are in the wet and pathetic Top Tourist park in Longreach at the moment. I am preparing complaint letters to Top Tourist and other organisations. I won't go on about this park in this reply.
We stayed at "Low Level" about eight years ago and were very impressed. When in Katherine in about three weeks or so, we had intended to visit Low Level. After reading your message we have put it on our "Definite" list.
Stand by for my whinge (with pics) about the Discovery Van Park (formerly Gunnadoo Park), the now grossly overpriced and grossly muddy park in Longreach.

Hi MA Great park that your at, we class it as good as we have stayed in, as u say clean ,great happy hours. Just checked out the weather, 31 at Kath. 15 at the Alice dont rush here in the north east of Vic we are enjoying a pleasent frost with a max arround 12, gaud im not moving. Have fun
Al, if you intend to stay at Low Level BOOK YOUR SITE IN ADVANCE. They are full most of the time they tell me so the more notice you can give them the more assured you will be of getting a site.
Drongo, we won't be going back down as far as The Alice. Had thought of doing the loop out to Booroloola the back to Cape Crawford and then down to Barkly. Hopefully it won't be too wet along that way and by the time we get to Longreach all will have dried out.
We won't be staying at the Top Tourist Longreach that's for sure. Thanks for the heads up Al.
Ma, When you go to Longreach stay at the Ilfracombe Park, 20kms out of Longreach. Great atmosphere, terrific owners and a bush poet who has to be heard to be believed. Reasonable rates. Park is not very big so booking might be good idea, Magnarv.
