Would you believe it .. came north to get warmer .. still down to around 4's and 5's of a night time .. I'm about 40 k's south of Kingaroy .. and the locals are telling me its good for frosts around here too ..
Oh well .. its beautiful country with great people up here .. and no, they don't resemble toads at all .. and you can take that from a ****roach ! .. (heheh !)
Coupla more weeks or three and I'll head to warmer climes .. Townsville sounds good !
Glad you are enjoying yourself up here but hey it aint cold yet especially where you are, we arent all coc kroaches up here some of us are border crossers (sometimes I wonder why)

Hi Brian .. Aren't we lucky to still have the freedom of travel here .. let's hope our 'kids' still have some freedom ..
Hello Helena .. It was still quite pleasant on Mothers Day in Adelaide when I dropped in to see my Mum .. last night she said how its turned cold, but also how she welcomed the rain you recently received. Apparently its warmer when travelling nearer to the coast up here, but I prefer the more open spaces. Enjoy your trip but still keep the 'bunny rug' handy ..
Hi! We were up your way last summer & there are 2 lovely places I would recommend if you havn't seen them yet.
The first you may be too far past by now & that is Bunya National Park at Dandabah. The place in the past was a meeting area for Aboriginal tribes & we thought it has a majestic old feel about the place. The rainforest provided us with what we thought was the best rainforest walks we have done. Some said it's dangerous taking caravans up to Dundabah as its thin & windy so we stayed at the Apex park at nearby Kumbia which has showers & an honesty box & that was fine.(there were some smaller poptops in the lovely campground up in Dunabah)
The second is Cania Gorge. There are some nice walks there & it's a lovely place to unwind. The Cania Gorge Tourist Retreat is one of our favorite c/parks with a lovely casual open bush atmosphere, Kangaroos hassling you at your caravan door & is very eco friendly, also it's cheaper & pleasantly smaller than the 'Big 4' one down the road.
Happy travelling Jon & Hylda

I was fortunate yesterday to be taken for a drive down along behind the Bunya Mountains by some folks I'm visiting here at Tarong .. There is an abundance of beauty all around here. To be shown some of the 'hidden-spots' by long-term residents was quite an honour .. Haven't looked into Cania Gorge as yet .. but will bear your comments in mind ..
HI Johnathan, Thanks the bunny rug and hot weater bottle is already packed. So excited can't wait for Sunday keep safe hope we can meet up with some of the Nomads travelling. Helena.
That aint cold....When we took to the road I thought that we would never have to go through a cold winter again, with planning, I thought we could just keep moving with the warmth....wrong....Mums been in & out of hospital after a nasty fall and my older brother is on the waiting list for a double lung transplant.....not a healthy lot! So we thought we had best stay put for awhile. We are in Mount Beauty at the foot hills of Falls Creek...waiting for snow!... (how many days 'till spring?)
