Bloomfield River

Hi, I have a 6 acre block on the banks of the Bloomfield river, half way between Cairns and Cooktown. On the main road with a conv store next door, has bore water and elec to the road front. If anyone wants to use it they are welcome to it. Alternatively I would sell it or a half share  as I spend most of my time overseas. Probably a good idea for a group of retirees to set up a Grey Nomads rest stop ?? Good fishing on the river. Nice and peacefull, what else do you need.
Regards Eight

Hi Eight and welcome to the forum,

Is that outside the "dry" area at Wujal Wujal? Don't want to have to go "on the wagon" How far to the Lion's Den?

Hi Eight, thats  really a very kind offer you've made us, it sounds wonderful !. I lived in N Qld in the 70's,  its probably time  to take a trip up again sometime soon.
Should we let you know if we're intending to go there?  Thanks ....Denise  :)  By the way, welcome to GN, hope you enjoy it...

Sorry, to everyone, but I don't spend much time on the internet. Have been living in Asia for the last 6 years , and this bit of land was going to be my retirement project.  Although I love the Bloomfield area and especially the fishing, on the doorstep,  I don't think I will ever   be able to afford to live in Australia, let alone build a fishing shack on the land. Which is why I'm open to ideas like, sell, subdivide and sell, or someone putting a building on the place in return for a half share. or someone just using the place. I'm a genuine easy going guy and would prefer a happy solution, rather than a money making solution, Something that I have learn t from living amongst poor people in Asia.  Anyone wanting to contact me can E/mail  ozeight8@yahoo.com
Regard to all.
Eight

The Bloomfield track is one of my favourite places I have been to. The best place is the famous "Lions Den Hotel " up the road towards Cooktown. Beware that the track from Cape trib is very slipery after rain, and very steep-4wds are recomended.I forgot to lock the hubs in and slid into a table drain, blowing a tyre. The flat casowary sign at cape trib is a laughsmile.gif Bill

Don't know that I'd want to drive that one, even now. Certainly can't in my present vehicle.
Driving some-one who'd lost his license to Cairns in the first few weeks after it was finished, [he had to visit friends at Helensvale on the way down] but at the foot of the first hill, I made him drive.
I took over when we were down the other side.
