Many people are unaware of the necessity to replace the sacrificial annode in their unit. Look into it as it is cheap insurance, easy to do yourself. Look for info on www.around-oz.com and read carefully. Don't rely on caravan outlets to warn you as they say it is part of their servicing. The thread is NTP not Bsp as the unit is American. Approx $32 cheap insurance and warn others.
Checked that site, yes the price is cheaper even with postage but it is not an original and is apparently aluminium not manganese and not NTP but BSP threads, close but not good enough. Plus it says will last longer but why when it is there to protect the tank and fittings would you you an inferior material. For the sake of even a dollar or two buy the well tested original Suburban spare part.
My Suburban manual does not say that you have to use manganese - in fact it states the usage of both types being okay. And the one that I purchased screws in perfectly. Checked with a thread gauge before installing. And I believe that it will last longer as it is longer than some others. And at last check is going well - lost a little of it which shows that it is doing its job.

Thanks for the comments but the alert was for those with no knowledge and do we want to confuse or warn those unaware as warning was the intention. The around oz article warns people not to use especially marine type annodes but not having a suburban or the manual it is good to know of the alternative even if it is a couple of dollars cheaper, still pays to change it annually at least.
Hey thank you for the suggestion but even I have a good option and which is caravan accessories Just once go throw it and hope you will get all thee information.
