Seeking Advice

Hi all

Me and the wife would like to travel around Aus.. Just wonder what sort of rig some of you guys have currently have a 17 foot Caromal. What is the work situation like whilst travelling.
Self employed for the last 8 months previous to that been in management roles sick of the stress so would love to give this travelling a go, my wife has been wanting to do this as her brother travels all over the place, matter of fact he is leaving in March for 14 months.

Any helkp or advice is appreciated

Cheers

Helmut

G'day mate, look give it a go for say six months and put out feelers as you go as far as work goes, we found there was enough to keep us going, try caravan park's, often they need a break but cant find staff to replace them

if you like it after six months then make your mind up, personally I would swap your position in a second, we can never retire!

there are loads of forums to go to for work etc, heard nothin but good reports had friends bought a bus went travelling ,worked driving tractors on farms, word has it that if you are travelling from one job to another you can claim on the fuel at end of year ,see centrelink about that its to get people to stay off the dole, there fore if you get a job picking tomatoes and then some other place there is work picking melons down south ,you keep your fuel dockets and claim fuel , we had friends worked around and never paid a dime for fuel in the long run.

good luck i wish you all the best we too are self employed own our own business and one day hope to be able to sell it and go on the road, for now our main trip is at present concentrating on going to birdsville.
