2 days to go

today and tomorrow reaping and I'm finished, thank the lord above I may be able to sit and meditate for a wee bit, mayhap a wee sleep at night!

off to Adelaide for a week to pull faces at the pandas and get Lynne's final grease and oil change, we will be staying in an inner city high rise motel thingy so dine in is on every night, ride the tram to glenelg or wherever it goes now, have an ice cream on the jetty and a latte on the prom

back to the city and take a look at the market, have a hot dog and a Chinese meal in china town's food court, relax in the parkland's, ride the bus to Hahndorf for a day, have a beer in the German arms hotel!

CANT WAIT!!!! to put the feet up

then on the 14th we take her home, doodle back here over two weeks then start work again

cant ever take the phone off Ibbo, goes with me wherever I am and whatever I'm doing

I had this fellow come waltzing over to me just a while ago, he had his lunch box with him and he says G'day, sits down under the tree next to me and starts eating his lunch, I thought, a million bloody square miles for this joker to pull up and have lunch and he's got to come and sit beside me

he starts asking all sorts of questions about the machine and what I knew about it and how long I'd been operating it, I finished up saying to him whats this forty bloody questions or something, wheres your bloody badge, if you haven't got one then piss off and mind your own business, I get a tad grumpy with no sleep for days

all was revealed a little while later, he is the reaping contractor that was sacked from this job, he asked me what I was doing for three months next year and if I wanted to work for him, I said no, then he said I'll match whatever you are being paid now, I nearly choked on my Sanger, I asked if he knew how much I was getting paid, he said no but I will definitely match whatever it is

so I told him with a smile, he got up and walked over to his Ute and made a phone call, when he returned he said okay, could have knocked me over with a feather, so i will be working for this peanut next year, still dont like him though! should be interesting!

Now Davo with you thinking about working for peanuts  ummmm is there something you are not telling us ? hehe

he's a smug bugger so we will see if I go the distance with him!

Dave dont get me started on those bloody windmills, I had a daytime job with a feller up around orroroo servicing the windmills up there, as you know the lower the wind speed the higher the windmill has to be in order to catch it, some of these things up there are better than 60 feet high, with huge blade span, I have had many a day on a broken platform trying to get the mongrel out of gear so it doesn't bight me

I made more money of a night time shooting roo's for jesser meats

gee Dave you are making me want to stand in the street with the for sale sign and yell at the passing traffic 'buy this house'. All the things ive missed about Adelaide i love the market and Hahndorf. Last time i was there took my daughter out for her birthday to Sammy's at the marina in Glenelg had an exeptional seafood platter lobster included and nice view too. When we move i will have to go to Adelaide every six months and that wont be hard to take at all. cheryl

Enjoy your break Dave as others have said... you DO deserve it!!
Off to Adelaide myself next month. The silly sods at work are sending me all expenses paid. Been a very long time since I have been there and you have refreshed my memory on a few things. Now have an idea on what I will do out of work hours.
Good thing is Mick will come with me so we will have a bit of a break as well.

Cheers
Ellen

and the best part is that we will share this with John and Lynne, we will take our lad with us so he can see the Pandas, good friends enjoying each others company in a great place life doesn't get any better than that!,

we love the little shopping center just before the market, there is a little Chinese feller in a hot dog stall who we got to know very well last time we were there, we go and see them every time we visit the town

we often get emails and phone calls from him and his wife, Adelaide is so easy to get around in and so "people" orientated, the colorful food court with foods from around the world and all so cheap, the shopping at the mall, the market, the gardens, dining out, all so easy and at hand

we will go back to our little Chinese restaurant in Gawler, it's just across from the cinema, every time we go there we get seated by the entrance to the kitchen so staff can sit and have a yak with us, great folks

take a ride on Popeye and the paddle boats, maybe lose a buck in the casino, have a pasty in the gardens and feed the ducks

cant wait!

the boss pinched my car and filled it with fuel, the dragon reckons she's got everything packed so as they say in the movies, I'm history!

well for a week anyway! dont know if there is internet in the hotel/motel!

Sounds like you have got some good things planned for Lynne before you take her home.

we are having a ball, took Lynne to the specialist yesterday and we got the all clear (no cancer left), infection has all cleared, and she gets to keep both nipples, with minimal scarring, so we spent the rest of the day at the zoo, went behind the scenes with the pandas, came back to the restaurant at the motel and had a bang up meal, retired to our room and sat, talked and laughed and got so drunk we didn't make it to bed

we were so damned happy and relieved we just "let go" cant remember the last time we did that!

today is not so flash!!! but I guess we deserved that, soft footing all around!!

Monday morning she gets her first start of breast augmentation, so we will hit the champers again!!!

great times!!! the smile is tattooed on my dial!!! Happy days indeed!!!
