Detergent in windscreen washing water.

Something that I have noticed over the last few years is that places that sell fuel (Cant call them service stations anymore) do not put any detergent in the windscreen washing bucket , and I have had some real good blues over it with staff and bosses , ended up 1 day asking the lady boss if she uses dertergent when her dishs get washed , wont repeat what she said . Needless to say I didnt fuel there again (600l a day )

Ibbo.........It's what you added to the coke that was the reason for needing the Vincents powder. How many times did I tell you to slow down......but oh no!!

600L a day Mick?? **** I would hate to lose that everyday if I were running a servo?

Is it a City or country servo!!

I operated Servos in Ceduna for years and we ALWAYS cleaned the windscreens!!. I had a woman jump out of the car one day yelling Bingo!!......it was so funny. I asked her what she was on about and she had her diary in her hand and said that we were the first servo in (I can't remember the exact figure) something like 14,000 K's that had cleaned their windscreen.  Great way to be remembered??

I always put a little detergent in my windscreen wiper water. Great to cleanse the greasy bugs etc.

Saw somewhere about not using Windex on windows where tinting has been put on, apparently someone did this and it made their tinting go funny etc.

On looking at the instructions on the Windex they said it tells you not use it on tinting a some other surfaces but they had not been aware of it.

I had a look at the bottle we have at home, and no bruddy wonder not many are aware of it, you have to look on the back of the front label through the rear of the bottle and view it through the liquid !  I needed a magnifying glass to read it properly !

Grrrrrrrrr.........furious

Im not talking about your washer bottle . The bucket provided by refueling stops .

I been fuelling at Cyrstal Brook for the last few weeks and what ever they use is best stuff Ive come across for ages . Fueled at Angle Vale yesterday and it was just water , mentioned it to the girl when I paid and she went crook at the young bloke for not doing the truck bowsers water .

Disco your servo I would call a SERVICE station .

I announced the results of independently financed tests somewhere and for the washer bottle on your car the best additive is....... Dishwasher rinse aid....just a teaspoon per bottle of water...

Sorry if my post was a bit OT also Mick.  Some buckets with no detergent seem to have some water repellent stuff in it (kero?) but no soap.  Doesn't seem to do much though.

yep I have noticed that less and less refueling stations are using detergent, and as for a "service station" the last one I seen was on kangaroo island,

whereabouts are you getting your fuel from in the brook mick, Perry's on the southern side, I doubt you would get in on the mobil one on the northern side?

It's like the Irish  Guinness bottles they have open other end stamped on their bottom  end just to confuse the drinker .

I use a dash of metho in the washer bottle but need to be careful where you park out west
