Nice combo dealer should be able to confirm wether the narvara , but was parked beside the same combo 2 mts. ago the couple were rapped in both van and tow unit , i would make sure you get a hayman reese weight distribution hitch would not be with out one

I agree with all above, the weight specified on the drawbar must be noted as well, hayman reese bring out quite a few different models, makes ure it is suitable

Many Narvaras towing large vans/boats ,when driven over speed humps bend the chassis upwards between the cab & the tub.

NRMA  was righting them off last year.

I have since been told that navaras are built in two different countries, one bends ,the other does not .

Unfortuneitly i dont know which is which .

You meed to do some home work.confuseconfuseconfuse

Think that the navara has been made in Thailand since 08?
Try some of the navara forums on google, might give you more info.

Nissan will never admitt some thing like that.

On the return from our trip last year i dropped into ny old work place ,

The boys there had seen 2/3 with this problem some were going to su nissan.

I take it they had towed these vehicles in .

3 weeks later i heard of the same prob, from friends down south ,they got it direct

from a NRMA assessor .

This is all the info i can give you.

Not sure on current regulations ,but it was always very hard to get a road worthy in a state that does not do them. They just dont have the apropriate paper work.

If you will be on a pension & in NSW you get a free rego each year. Now thats got to be cheep.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Hi, we have a Crusader van and have been very dissapointed. We bought the Van (pop top) brand new in June 2008 and have only been able to use it 4 or 5 times due to a lot of problems and hassles getting it fixed. We finally have it all repaired and ready to use as of 1 month ago, but to be honest I am really worried about something else going wrong with it (what could I don't know as so much has been repaired or replaced allready) but now it is out of warranty I cringe.
Don't get me wrong, I know there are a lot of Crusader users out there that have not had a spot of bother so maybe we just lucked out and got the "lemon".

Cheers
Ell

Hi all - we are newbies on this site.  We have an 07 Navara auto STX turbo diesel, towing a Crusaider 22 ft family van (close to the 3 ton max) The Navara tow's it well at around 85 to 90 KPH.  The Crusaider van has been used twice in 2 years (purchased it new) in a nutshell I am very disapointed in the quality control of the van as we spent 1 week mainly free camping in it last week.   Firstly it was a HORROR to tow with both water tanks full, the 2 tanks are both mounted rearward of the tandem axle instead (like other manufacturers) one foreward and one rearward of the axles, I have just spent all day relocating the rearmost tank foreward.  My son observed the wall between the bunks and kitchen moving, the idiots screwed the bottom of the cupboard into light ply causing the wall to break away.  Our silly fault but at the first powered site we encountered we used the solitary electric hotplate on the stove only to find it did not work (first time used, out of warranty). When I moved the water tank I noticed with horror that the shower outlet drain plug underfloor crossed a chassis member, this had been cut out with an angle grinder (how rough is that?) without plating the missing piece of chassis.  A power cable runs through a welded chain link on the chassis meant for the hand brake cable a potential fire hazard, if rubbed through. The toilet door is out of square and warped consequently very difficult to close, other furniture fittings leave a lot to be desired. The plastic external fridge vents "blew off" when a semi overtook me, I replaced these at $75.00 each but put 2 stainless steel screws in the ends to ascertain this wont happen again in the future. I also replaced the mag wheel centres as they were heavily rusted (remember its only 2 years old) aftermarket replacements= $60.00, perished plastic handels all around and 4 seasons hatch door comming adrift, the water pump, although good is placed in the only usable cupoard space in the kithchen area instead of less useable space and the list goes on.  I was a very happy 18ft Pop Top, Jaco Westport owner prior to this, unfortunately our son outgrew the 3/4 size bed so we opted to the much larger Crusaider van. We are Very disapointed, but working on the van fixing the problems one by one - very poor for a van that I pad in excess of $75,000 in persuit of the quiet life......

Check the weights carefully and not by just reading the compliance plate.

If it is a centre door model pay particular attention to the ball weight which can be excessive.

If you buy a new car in NSW you will not need it to be inspected for rego for 5 years. Plus, as Justcrusin1 says, if your address is NSW and you are a pensioner, you get free rego. But you would still need to pay for a Greenslip before registration. Just because it's free doesn't mean it doesn't need registering as some have found out to their sorrow.

Hi Guys, thanks for the advice. I will be taking my rig - fully loaded (including water tanks) to have the ball weight measured and re- adjust the Hayman Reece set up.  Hopefully this will stop the horrid swaying above 85 KPH

We are on our second Crusader. The first was a 2011 X-Country single axle. We had a leak in the boot from the generator door. It was repaired and Crusader gave us an extension of our warranty, 9 months.

This time we have an Excalibur Duke. We had a Dexter anti-sway added as well as the X-Country pack. We tow with a 200 Series. it tows like a dream. The interior suits our needs and there is more storage than we will ever use. The carrying capacity has also increased and there is now a 2 year warranty.

We do have some niggling issues which will be addressed when we return home. We've just been away in it for about 9 week, (still away in fact).

We are on our fourth van and we have never had a van that did not have an issue of some sort, luckily all were easily remedied.
