Combination of an accident in the paddock a lot of years ago, and a little arthritus, and now it is being suggested that a Arthroscopy could do some good on the knee, A suggestion from a friend said to get it cut off, but didnt fancy that as it would hinder my ability to up and down the ladder in the mine, another suggestion was to get some" Rapigel," a muscle and joint relieving gel, Marked for animals only , 250g at 23 dollars, available from the pet shop,
I can walk, I can run, I can run up and down the ladder,sit in the car for hours without ache, Remember for animals only Guess this old dog has got some good out it
Rapigel is the best thing out that I have found for arthritis. Have tried all the over the counter stuff and prescription stuff as well.
Lets face it an animal can't tell you where it hurts unless you touch it and he bites you and they seem to get relief with Rapigel.
Give it a go, what have you got to loose and it doesn't cost a fortune either.

Have it ripped out and replaced with metal.........no rust and no creaks. Aside from the recovery pain (Lots) it improves one's tempriment immensly. Only draw back is the airport sensors.
I get it cheaper at the produce store. The vets ask too many questions and I don't like telling porkies. Never tried looking in the pet store though

When I started doing long trips in the Camper, I was getting a very sore left knee, from putting too much pressure on that leg while driving. Made up a batch of Comfrey Ointment for my sister at Easter, and used it myself with great success on the Knee. My Youngest sister has the recipe now too, as she gets Arthritis in her fingers, and won't be without it. Much cheaper if you can find someone to make it for you. Stronger than the stuff you buy in the Healthfood shops. Feel free to PM me if you'd like the recipe. It's very easy to make.
Ah....the theraputic properties of Comfrey. Always included some in the feed for the goats - milking goats that is. had a marvellous effect on internal problems and in turn it passed into the milk and when the children drank the milk there was no need for Combantrin......if you get my meaning. Sorry off on another tangent here.......

Guy onthe local radio 2.hd.newcastle.on the overnight show spouted on about the great healing properties of"Collodial Silver"Any feed back?Cheers.Ibbo.
On the subject of animal products, one that is supposed to be good for Psoriasis is Deri-Sal, very greasy though and stains clothing, so best to put on with old tracky suit or similar;
Description Rudducks Deri-Sal Cattle Ointment.
Indications To assist in the healing of cracks, sores and wounds. To prevent chapping and infections of cows teats and udders.
Ibbo, regards Collodial Silver, you may find the Oz Govt research item interesting;
Took your advise and whilst at the Pet produce store in Bathurst getting pro plan for the dogs happened to see the Rapigel so went ahead and purchased same. 250grams for $19.99
BTW the vet that we take our dogs to does not have a problem with trying different remedies. She suffers from Arthritis and has tried sashas blend plus other products. I wondered why she was growing hair all over and scratching all the time
Will let you know how the Rapigel goes.
Thanks for the info.
Take care and stay well.

As long as I don't start sitting down to scratch and lick, I'll check it out. Anything to help ease the pains in the joints. I also take extract of celery seed tablets every day, and the relief is almost immediate. Plus the fish oil, it's almost gone. I tried glucosamine for almost 2 years with no relief. Everyone has different results, so it's good to compare notes. I'll try anything to keep the fingers, shoulders, knees and feet working with minimum pain. Good stuff! Cheers Chris

Now thats something I didn't know about and thats the celery tablets. Must give them a go. Never heard of it before. Sashas Blend is Glucosamine and we give it to our GSds. Does not work for me either.
I guess so far as remedies are concerned, some work for different people whereas they do not for others. Have to try and see what works for me
Woof woof.

At least it makes you oblivious for a few hours, lol. The Rapigel sounds worth a try, may try it myself. My Dr wanted me to have gold injections at one time, I declined, so no idea what they are like, maybe somone else here has tried them.

forget the gold injections, they don't do anything except make your wallet easier to carry, I have cortisone injections every 6 months and I can say that they work, (rheumatoid arthritis) expensive though and they hurt like hell
I was on cortisone tablets for a few months. Worked magic, but not good long term. Weakens the immune system and thins the skin. Side effects keep us on our toes. Chris

it's not the actual injection that hurts it's the bloody quack trying to maneuver the needle right into the center of the joint (shoulder) thats what makes my eyes water, I also have it in my knees and finger joints
