Good Movie - "The Proposal"

Saw a good movie today, "The Proposal" starring Sandra Bullock.  Lots of humour and a bit of romance for the ladies, great scenery as well.biggrin

Anyone else seen a good movie lately?

I tend to fall asleep when watching the idiot box for longer than ten minutes, but I can stay awake for the likes of "the african queen" or "true grit" or "driving miss daisy" or "forrest gump"

Loved the "calender girls", top watch, but draw it out a bit at the end

Maybe we can get the ladies to pose for a GN calender, but they would want us to do it for the following year - scrap that thought

I love Sanda Bullock's movies. She has an open personality which seems to come across through every character she plays.
I'll put this one on my list of things to do.

Now you blokes, about that calendar. We will if you will, won't we girls?

The right map can cover a multitude of travel lines.

Have fun. Cheers Chris

we have a calendar in the production stages here in the village we live in.  Both boys and girls are taking part.  The olders participant is 89.  No smart comments from you guys either......it just happens to be a bloke.   All very tastefully done I might add.

Robcol, actually went to see State of Play, but I missed it, thanks for the feedback on that.  In The Proposal, the granny is one of the "Golden Girls" and she is a hoot.

I liked the Clint Eastwood movie "Grand Torino" as well, that was good viewing.  Some of our travels were marked by movie visits, eg; Pearl Harbour at Cairns, Moulin Rouge at Palmerston etc.  In regards to travel, did anyone see Wolf Creek (available on video)?  Scary movie, not for the faint hearted.

African Queen was one of my favourites too Dave, most of Bogey's movies were good, eg, The Caine Mutiny etc.

Re the calendar, can I use my avatar........I'll take my shoes off biggrin

Can you imagine the rush on this forum we would get if all the middle age and elderly citizens did a calender, with every thing heading south and/or getting smaller the camera would have to be at or near our feet to make it interesting

Speak for yourself Mike and Judy.
Everything I have is still in it's right place, just bigger and taking up more room.
And that's way too much information.
Maybe a strategically placed sheet would hide the multitude of anatomical sins.
Nah, can the calendar! But, it's been fun watching the comical pictures going through my head. Cheers Chris

I like Sandra Bullock movies too her latest is the only one I havnt seen. I did watch "Australia" a couple of weeks ago I had been putting it off because everyone says it isnt that great but I liked it great scenery up there at Home Valley Station and Hugh Jackman was quite stunning with his shirt off. Anyone else seen it? I also watched Benjamin Button yesterday unusual story line but a good movie but I think I would rather grow old then grow young. chezgo
