UHF Radios

Thought I had posted this but obviously not.

Looking for a user assessment of the ICom 440 UHF radio. Like the set up of  the 440 having the guts of it under the seat and the working bit all in the Mic Combo.

I would also be interested in hearing comments on any other split system that is contained in the mic .

Comments on suitable aerials is also neeeded

Thanks all

I'm not sure about the 440.....I bought a GME TX3440.......controls are on the mic.....the rest is hidden away........the Pajero....didnt have a place to mount a UHF...thats why I went to this type........I have a 4.5db...aerial........seems to be most common...its mounted on a Z bracket...mounted between guard and bonnet cause I have no bullbar

I sort of lean toward the 3440 as a remote head unit, we have the 3200 and have been able to get out where others havent, the voices seem to be less garbled as well
