Mobile Phone & Internet ..

Hi folks ..

My plans are to be on the road fulltime from the end of September .. so I'm here picking your brains  ..

I'm currently using prepaid Vodafone and Unwired which is quite satisfactory while living in my present situation here in the Western Suburbs of Sydney

Is 'next G' the way to go (because of its coverage) with both mobile phone and the internet and how cost effective have you found it to be .. ?

My intent is to be able to use the internet prob for an hour or so per night (at the most) when its available ..

Are any of you using 'prepaid' contracts ? .. or might you be using some other form of contract that you find to be most suitable ?

There is no alternative here for experience .. so I'd be happy to hear from you !

cheers .. Jon

Hi,

If you go to SEARCH at the top of your page and tye in "Internet" you will find the answers you are looking for.

I understand that you are new here and that your question is a genuine one, but it has been covered many times in this forum.  Just a bit of information that may assist you.

Take care

I think the internet cost for that 1 hour a night using a mobile could break the bank.

.. thanks folks for the response .. I have sufficient detail now to move on.

I will primarily adopt the maccas & library syndrome as my Toshiba functions well in the wi-fi area.

Will most likely retain Vodafone since its served me well enough in the past whilst roaming about and picking up reception at most towns and is quite cost effective in a prepaid situation ($29.00 cap per month).
.. I also have HF radio comms throughout Oz using the Codan .. so, all in all I'll be happy with that overall combination.

**  I appreciate the support .. but will let this thread go now as this topic is well adressed elsewhere ..

regards .. Jon
