Foot ball

What is it with footballers? Some of them display less IQ than my lunch.....
Another question I have never found an answer for either and that is why is it that women seem quite happy to go along with the sex orgies etc untill they change their minds years later and seem to think that all the agro thay have bought on by their actions can be wiped away with unmarked banknotes in any denomination....
Why don't sports persons play because they want too?

Basil, my answers

1 If you want some heavy work done, something heavy lifted, do not ask the bloke with the highest IQ. Look at the other end of the scale. Looking for money

2 If the almighty cannot fiquire out why woman change their minds, why ask us mere mortals. Following the money

3 When playiing for fun, is interupted by an offer to play for money, which way would you go. Playing for the money

Seems to me, there is a common thread here.

When these sports persons go "professional" they are paid huge amounts of money, without the maturity to handle the lifestyle it brings. It starts when they're about 14 years old.
They also forget the responsiblity to their sport, and the role they play.
The sports people get huge salaries, plus endorsements to use products, and are paid for public appearances.
They need strong managers to manage and control the financial side of the sport, while the player concentrates on their duties and responsibilities, including training and playing the game.
The girls follow the "image" which goes with this high flying lifestyle. They look for the prestige, and the guys like the "ornamental" value of a beautiful, well dressed and sophisticated partner.
It all goes to sh...t when they all forget who and where they are.
Peer pressure has a lot to do with it, and they all set out to outdo each other, to the poiint of ridiculous and illegal. It all has consequences.

What I cannot understand is why most footballers want to dress up as women.

Anyone know?

I don't think it's "most", but it seems to be a bit of a prank at the end of season nonsense, when they think they're in privacy.
Everything they do is so much more publice these days with cameras everwhere.
They have to be more aware of their public behaviour. A phone call could be their undoing, with a phone picture sent to the media.
Exposure has more than one meaning when it comes to public life.
They want the career and work hard to get there. They then earn huge salaries and lifestyles, and they live their lives in a gold fish bowl.
No room for lapses in concentration when you're a celebrity or professional sports person.

Thanks Chris, it makes sense, maybe I should put on thinking cap first next time.  I simply did not look at it from that point of view.

the trouble today is not the footy players we have always been idiots (former a grade player here in my hayday) the problem lies with the media

I can remember many footy trips that I would not like to see recanted anywhere else except in my minds eye, stories of fellows dropping their dacks on a bus to fart on another bloke only to have a "squirt" instead (well you had to be there, believe me it was funny)

drunken spree's when no womens clothes were safe, coppers cars became targets, particularly the deflation of said vehicles tyres, piddling in the tank was a good one and spuds up the exhaust, lifting the rear of the cop car off the ground and placing bricks underneath it so that it looked like it was still on the ground and then sitting back to watch the copper trying to take off, nothing dangerous just stupid, childish and bloody funny to watch

we never received a cent for playing the game, we did it for the camaraderie and love of the sport, it was always clean (especially when the ump was looking), we even paid our club fees, bought our own uniforms and paid our way in, we had a beer or two with the opposition afterwards and retold of legends past and present

we often relived certain sections of the previous match in sometimes very animated tones, where the occasional personage may have been hurt

the media must place stories all through the day everyday seven days a week, doesn't matter if they are true or mean spirited a story is a story and thats the end of it, ours weren't told thank god but the fellers of today are up against it, but of course that is why they are paid the big money and put "up there kazalie!!!" we are out there to win!!!

Back in the dim dark ages, I was a highly paid member of our defence forces, in order to prevent my having to claim welfare as I was below the poverty line, I took on a moonlighting job as manager of an indoor cricket centre and formed the worlds first under six league. We had to change the rules a little as to batting and bowling with the main aim being to teach these young children the delight of being a team player and enjoying the fun of participating in the game.

The response from the participants was great. There was no bias at that stage about those with abilities over those without. My worst let down was when the kids graduated to higher grades, when the only important part of the sport was winning..... And those who were not so talented or co-ordinated were relegated to the list of "could have beens"

It wasn't the kids who caused this change, but the egotistical coaches and parents who pushed for "supremacy". And I had my run ins with a number of them.

I am now among the "over 55 class" (mainly because my home base is a village where the minimum requirement is to be over 55, and none of us age after that). My youngest son, whom I coached through those early years, plays both cricket and "GAy" F L as the captian of both sports in his home town. I am proud to report that the protocol that I tried to instil in his early years is still apparent in his outlook. I am just glad that he wasn't influenced by the "quick money" type coaching and promotion that seems to invade on every sport these days.

And I just wish that his attitude is more of the majority of young people because what you read in the papers these days fills me with dread.

PS.. before joining the RAAF I did participate in a few propest marches, but that was before I got my smart haircut

Strewth Bob you're not suggesting that Money and egos and power are the problem? Who would have ever thought...

If you coached kids with the right attitude, and it looks like you did, you can be very proud to know you gave them a great start to sport.
In the very early days the parents can be very difficult trying to get their kids to achieve what they couldn't.
I've seen it a lot in Netball.
When they become achievers and either play A Grade at home, or are recruited to bigger and better things they have to work very hard to get there, and stay there.
At the local club level it's all about the mates, commeraderie and the clubhouse after the game, and it's still "fun".
Once these sports men and women get right up there at the pinnacle of their sport, they really have to work hard to get there, and stay there. And they have to really justify their salary, but I think they get paid too much. That's another story.
Naturally, they let off steam from time to time, as Dave can relate on his footy trips. His club would have worked very hard to raise the funds to go on the trip. Maybe with local sponsors, but mostly with their own money.
These professional athletes are under great pressure all year round, not just during the season. Then they let off steam, but unfortunately it's often too publicly, and that's where their public image hits the ground. They also forget their responsibility to the junior sports players as role models.
No one would know what the local country footy team gets up to on their end of season trip, and what is done on the trip, stays on the trip.
Professional athletes don't enjoy the luxury of anonymity, and if they play dress ups in a frock, it becomes public.

mmmmm........something about football that irritates me is their kinky attitude of wearing tight shorts, jumping around hugging and kissing each other when they actually score.  Get on with the game guys.

No wonder I prefer watching ladies play netball..

Hmmmmm Grizz I sometimes wonder about you. Whats wrong with tight shorts on Blokes? And when you "score" don't you normally hug and Kiss? Mate it's normal for these guys, this mornings allegations that group sex is encouraged as a form of TEAM BONDING blows my mind. Whats wrong with this girl who eagerly aggreed to go to the room with the 2 blokes anyway. Us Males are tagged as sexual predators, every girl is taught this in school so why go with 2 SP's back to their lodgings. The 4 Corners story was really embarassing to all concerned, they behave like feral kids....
Ladies playing Netball? Hmmmmm Lawn Bowls has more pacemeker stopping action but for visual impact a ladies Gym Class is worth watching, especially as they all wear their undies on the outside of their leotards - one has to wonder why????
