Political party

Yeah I know we don't talk politics in here but consider the poll. Its anonymous but you can of course express any ideas.
I'm thinking the Australain Seniors Party would be a good place to start.

I'm not keen on political parties as they tend to take on a life of their own.
Single platform parties tend not to get much electoral support.

On the other hand, a pro-active lobby group might be an effective way of frightening the existing chair polishers to take a little more notice of what will become a major voting bloc in the not-too-distant future.
It need not be exclusive to an age group (e.g. bring the other beneficiaries like invalid pensioners into discussions on state benefits) but more a church which includes a wider membership of like minded people.

getup.org.au is currently running a human rights campaign which is general and inclusive.

Be careful there. It looks a bit like a condescending, self-indulgent lefty group with no particular strength which could make a difference in the big picture.
I'd be looking for a more credibel means of geting heard.
........ But what would I know.

As it is the balance of state powers seem to be decided by a few "singel platform parties" the Christian democrats, the Family First, the Shooters and the Greens all have a say in what is implemented....
In the ACT the Labour party has to bed down the Greens to get legislation thru and as a result the Greens get special consideration. The ACT Health system is in meltdown yet the Greens get 19 million for a "carbon footprint shopfront". I think I'd have prefered most of that to go to hospitals & education. The Greens will argue that this is education of the masses to save the planet....
