Today Gracie & I attended the "Field of Remembrance" service at Morshead Vets Home. Very moving and emotional.... Ok so then the Canberra Times arrives with cameras and Gracie stole the show' licking an Air Commodore, Jumping up on the Chief of the general Staffs represntative, all this encouraged of course. I planted a cross for my Grand father, had some morning tea and posed for more pics then drove slowly home.
The RSL supremo asked why there was only 1 Therapy dog there and his ADC told him (without getting the facts) "These Dogs are special, costs a fortune to train them" Oh well. Anyway I think Gracie was overwhelmed by all the attention ate more sausage rolls than anyone else and will probably get her pic in the paper check out the CT online on Sunday; http://www.canberratimes.com.au/

Interesting results from this excercise 1) Quite a few more Vets intend going to this next year as the informalty and friendliness plus everyone gets a seat, everyone can see whats happening, and everyone gets morning tea afterwards. Plus where else can you see a real Air Commodore hand out rubber mallets to hammer in the crosses & help elderly ladies hammer in crosses. 2) that photo will do the rounds I suspect as the editor of the RSL newspaper wants to put it on the front page......

You and Gracie make a lovely couple. What a great experience it must have been for you Basil. One question: If Gracie was "working", how come she accepted a pat?

Granny "Working" is being friendly for Gracie. She thinks she is the ants pants in her vest. It was a very moving experience for me Granny.

I know you were 'talking' to Basil but have to just jump right in a nd agree with you that dogs are the most wonderful company!
My little Whippet Clancy just loves our trips away and makes a great little companion, he knows about Kelpies and how much fun they are to play with too!

I have to agree Dogs are great company and they never ever answer back or give you wrong directions. Cats are good to but just a bit more difficult to travel with as most breeds like their own territory although the orientals make good traveling companions.
