A Learning curve

Hello.Well here we are back at North Arm cove after a two week journey up to the sunshine coast and back.We spent 4 nights at the Beach Front c/v park at north haven, right next to the beach .nice wide sites, sparkling clean amenities, dog friendly.great bowling club for meals.next stop was at Moonee Beach near coffs Harbour.Really a top place to stay.Plenty of places to walk and enjoy the vista from the headland viewing point.Another park that is dog friendly.Once again the shower blocks and toilets were spotless and clean.probably the only down side were the bloody biting thingies.(No Dave not Sharks). We stayed for 5 nights before leaving for Qld.Our intention was to spend a few days at Buderim with our son, which we did do.Rainbow Beach was our original plan, but that Hamish bloke changed all that.In the mean time Wally our Staffie forgot he was a dog and changed his diet to Ford Falcon plastic bits, electical connections between car and Penguin Van.About this time my wife suggested that we leave the beast in a boarding kennel................Kennels.more expensive than motels. No I decided that if we put him in a bloody straight jacket he would be ok.Out of the blue Sylvia(Wallys Human Mum)suggested that he would be happier in the Ford and not on the roof rack.Worked like magic.Time to head south again as we had to forget about going any further north. We decided to drive straight through to Karauah.road works and daylight saving made me to stop overnight at the B.P servo and truck stop north of Kempsey. We were made most welcome,a great meal and shower, about twenty trucks kept us company and we felt as safe as houses.I dont have acamera and for that reason no photos. We plan our next forte down south and then really get into the big miles.Cheers Ibbo.

well I read all that with a smile on my face, so many memories that you have forged in such a short time, they will stay with you forever, long after you've repaired all the plastic and wiring on the ford, perhaps a muzzle till he gets the idea that chewing is probably not in his best interest

shame you dont have a camera mate I would have loved to see the photos, but you spent some quality time with your boy and enjoyed a good trip by the sounds of it, well done

Good post Ibbo

As Sir Dave says, memories, and a leanrner for your and your mate. Have recently been along that way, and did free camps, surprising how many and where you find them.

Never past a good truck stop for a stop over. Good food and normally good staff, can get a bit noisy though

Thanks Dave and Two Bob.We did enjoy our taste of travel.About a muzzle for the dog,we tried that and he chewed that.I have since bought a roll of gaffer tape for his molars and also found that if I put one of his front paws in his collar it slows him down a bit................just joking.Cheers Ibbo.
