Dont knock the man, Ive had an old Bounty Hunter since the 70s, and althought it has recently died it has more than paid for itself, in the returns from around Leonora, and the golden triangle, mind you I built a house there and that helped

mines a garrett, its deadly on aluminium but havent really tried it on much else,
I got it cheap, used it a few times, created a global shortage on ringpulls and placed the silly thing in storage with a tag on it stating "something that I will play with upon my retirement"
however the times that I have used it have been very relaxing, one can "switch off" and just tune in to the little noises, not knowing what lies beneath

I bought that super duper Mine lab thingy and found the ear phones were as useful as pockets in underpants, so I used the David Clark headset out of the plane and their grouse, stared pickin up bits.
I started at Jubilee dam near Kurnalpi and headed overland north east toward Lake Rebecca after some remote green country driving by compass I wouldn't like to be lost out there.
Tried aound Vic but the trash give me the S*#its and had a go up near Tibooburra, lot of very fine stuff in that blue clay, good for dry blowin. whats the best you got and where aprox.
Hi Jim 2,5 ozs and a hell of a lot of real small stuff, all sw of Leonora, but had to quit as I noticed the van had 3 studs missing on one side, after jacking up and balancing it on some rocks, removed both wheels and shared the remaining studs tween the 2 wheels, made it to Boulder and did a proper job, (bloody rattle guns) Lived in Laanecoorie for 9 years, right opposite the Lodden state forest, and got only acouple of little bits, was into self suffiecienty in a big way with ny Ex, till she found someone better?? Thems the breaks, now into a far better lifestyle with full independance, plus Judy to help Got a couple claims here, one with my humble abode, "the shack" and am here every winter, my own bit of paridise, roos at the door, and maggies at the table, they dont assault you Plus enought sapphire to keep the wolf from the door and the kids happy have a good day, The boss has just suggested we cut your grass, then learnt of "Hamish" its a pipsqueak after L" Larry" when I was in Herberton
Hi Basil, I've got one of the clothes lines. Very handy. My sister bought one after I had mine, and the latest versions have little pegs [like tent-pegs] attatched to the base of the legs that you can stick into the ground, to stop them blowing over in a wind. Cheers, xina.
I like the look of the bucket, I've seen them here (we dont have an aldi store out here in the bayou as yet) but they are a bit dearer

We have purchased a fridge, portable vacuum cleaner, clothes line, collapsible bucket and a wind up torch. All great bargains.
Regards,
Ablett and Jane.

I should give you a review of the Metal detector...... On the beach @ Merimbula in 2 hours I found $21.55 in coins and 3 sets of car keys with keyless remotes attached, one had a key tag with phone number who I phoned and they are very happy as I only asked them for $200 to cover my costs as opposed to the $700-800 it would cost for replacements.... This tool seems to do as advertised. I also found a bag of other mettalic refuse.... Good value for $80.

I read somewhere that you find Diamonds in Blue Clay. Can any-one verify that? Cheers, xina.

Yep that is true, called a "pipe" but only certain colours of Diamonds the whites and blues are found in blue clay pipes..... I don't believe there are any in Australia, the Argyle diamonds are a pink colour.... Not that I have found any.....

Some good "technology specials" from Thursday @ Aldi. The 8gb USB stick would be handy and I'm thinking of the USB Turntable as I do a bit of digital remastering of old records....

Basil I did a lot of plumbing in my other life as a builder and as such have a large quantity of piping around that was left over,
now upon reading your post I went and checked everyone of my pipes, blue ones, white ones hell I've even got green ones, I must have checked close to 3 miles of pipes and there is not one bloody diamond OF ANY color amongst any of it
I would like to say categorically that diamonds are not found in pipes at all and I think that was a cruel joke to play
unless I buried them when I did the sewerage Hmmmm!!! I wonder????
