Thanks to all for the great forum. I have been snooping around for some time without introducing myself as we technically are not Grey Nomads(although the grey is starting to appear). Yet here we are with, of course, a couple questions.
As we are relatively newcomers to Perth, does anyone have any suggestions as to a Caravan Park close by that has good disabled facilities and allows pets?
Question 2. Does anyone know when/if the new edition of Jan Holland's book is coming? We are still trying to find a quiet campsite nearby to recharge and enjoy our kids before they grow tired from us.
G'day to you Will, welcome to the forum mate, hell I didn't know that one had to be a Grey nomad to be in here, I'm in the full bloom of youth still (shut up Basil or by jeez I promise I'll give ya one, yeah and you too Mike, I can see ya!! and get that grin off your face!!! cheeky bugger's)
I'd suggest you grab the new camps Australia wide book, currently in it's fourth edition with five due out shortly, it will save you heaps
love the camper looks to be pretty cosy and well thought out, we have a Toyota hi-ace as well as a camper trailer
anyway any questions you might have give us a yell and we will give you an answer even if we don't know the right one's, we'll make something up that sounds plausible, usually work's
we sometimes enjoy traveling with our disabled 30 year old son and find that most parks now have disability friendly facilities most are fantastic, although he is not in a wheelchair I still must do everything for him, so I know a little of which I speak!!

Thanks for the prompt reply Dave, I am enjoying yours "ramblings" if I may be so bold. Interestingly I am finding it difficult to find the combination of wheelchair access and pet friendly, in the Perth region. Yes, I have Camps 4, and am awiting for 5. By the way, if any information is needed re the South Coast of WA, I may be able to help.
Ah the Camper!!!! My pride and joy!!!! Never used a welder before embarking on this project. We chose to go down this line because we needed a camper that handled a large electric chair and had a proper bed. We also needed lots of storage and good kitchen facilities. I won't go on and bore everybody
you aint boring me mate, my welder and I have been freinds for forty years

And I wish I'd taken metal work at school instead of mother craft. Bathing a doll wasn't even close to real life. Travelling with animals is getting harder and harder. It's easier to find facilities for disabled, than it is to find parks which take dogs. And gaining access to national parks can be difficult for both. All the best with your travel plans, and enjoy your time with your family whatever you do wherever you go.
Safe and happy travels. Granny

Hi Granny,
Hmmmm Are you suggesting leaving either or both behind? Never thought of that! Naaa It's not going to happen! But then again, sometimes sacrifices may have to be made for the greater good...... By the way, I love the wheel covers. Cheers Will
Alternatley have your dog, cat, budgie, ferret, siberian hamster - whatever trained and registered as a "Trained Assistance Animal" then you can take them under control into national parks and caravan parks and legally they cannot stop you.
Granny, do you have your ferrets on a leash? If so then you get an honourable mention in Caravan World unless there is a "Vanning with Ferrets Club" out there.
There is quite a push atm for more Van parks to allow pets, if they are sensibly controled and looked after they do less damage than bored schoolkids. One place I go to says they would prefer the pets and leave the kids out because very few dogs, cats etc commit random acts of vandalism. Also the smart operators are realising that they are loosing busness by restricting their clientelle....
A good idea is to get hold of a copy of the book "Holidaying with Dogs"; http://www.holidayingwithdogs.com.au/ gives a very comprehensive listing of all pet friendly accomodation, surprising what is out there....
