Thanks for your enquiry, John. At this stage, the Grey Nomads is just a website, but as interest increases, we will consider forming some sort of association. Watch this space. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy your new motorhome.
Webmaster - several other groups I have been observing have had members requesting some form of club formation. Forming a club brings the liabilities of incorporation and public risk insurance. Incorporation is required to limit the members liability and public risk insurance is required if you are organising events.
We can receive benefits such as member discounts by being members of the newsgroup. Gatherings can be arranged by mentioning something like "I am going to XXX, would others care to join me."
regards PeterD

I like The Grey Nomads as it is here. I know there is a Facebook site, but I never know anyone when I have looked there. As for discounts, if you are a senior, your Seniors Card and/or pension card, as well as lots of other organisations, insurance, motoring organisations offer discounts.
I like to do my own thing, rallies and chapters do absolutely nothing for me.
Just my opinion for what it is worth - enjoy your motorhome.

I have just arrived back from Overseas and purchase a motorhome. I am trying to find the Grey Nomads to become a member..
Does anyone on this forum have contact details of the assoication?
Regards
John
Can't help there John, don't know it myself, however keep your eye on our unofficial Get Together Section for gatherings of members of this forum. No fees to pay, no committees etc, etc, each person responsible for their own conduct and expenses (or any bookings if in a CP), just turn up. We have (and still do have) had some great GTG's in every State from time to time including mini get togethers as shown in that section. Welcome to the forum
I don't know if it still exists, but there was a political party for older people - is this maybe what the OP was interested in? Would be nice if he came back on and had a chat.

Guilty also.... Well Cindy did say to "Watch This Space" looks like nothing was decided.
My preference is our GTG's they way they are, whether group or meet ups for anyone who is interested etc.
I notice that John is still shown as an active member, although was last on the forum for approx. one hour later on the same day in 2005. Long gone by the looks of it....

Dishlicker has been busy, He/she opened up a 2005 thread on Fossicking to which I replied. I realised just in time how old the thread was and was able to delete my useless information in time. It would not have been relevant 10 years later and the person who put the query up has not been on for years.
Maybe very old threads should not be able to be replied to after a certain length of time.
