Cape York

Hi there,

We are planning to hit Cape York a little later in the year. Does anyone know the best time to go and what conditions we are likely to encounter? We're also keen to a fair amount of fishing. Are there any particularly good spots tp head for?

Thanks

I've never been but am also planning to go later this year. I understand that - depending on the year - any time after May is normally good. The wet can start any time after mid-October so you don't wnat to risk being caught up there after that. I reckon I'll go up there in August/September as I figure the water levels will be lower. I haven't got a snorkel on my fourbie. Does anyone know if that will be an issue? Fishing wiswe, I'm too busy catching salmon in WA at the mo to worry about the barra yet!
