Dick Smith's has the Garman 310 on sale at $278 a saving of $200. This seems a pretty good buy, does anyone have one and if so, what are your thoughts on them.
I have a LG LN800 at the moment that am happy with but it does not allow me to enter lat/long co-ordinates, some of the campng spots in the bible only give GPS co-ords, hence the need (????) to upgrade.
Yes, I have one and have found it absolutely brilliant. New to Aussie, I was amazed that using mine I could go anywhere with confidence. I had to learn to judge distances first though! LOL! i.e turn in 100mtrs, etc, and I wasn't sure how far that was!! I now know, as I have gotten used to it. It hasn't put me crook yet. It uses 'where is' and I often use it to find the nearest Maccas and petrol. Cheers Dianne
Not familiar with the Garmin - hae used the Navmaan - which drove us around in circles on the Mornington Peninsular and swore we would never buy one of these 'contraptions' - however we have bought a Magellan Crossover - Probably a very dear choice, but it was the only one that had all the outback and desert stuff on it and the ability to add things like the Great Desert Maps put out by Hema, via the SD slot.
So far so good - it has got us most places without too much confusion.
