Interstate restrictions on Canines

Are there any? I have heard that Alsations are not allowed in some places and I have tried googling with no tangible results. Just Curious as we may be heading to the Glorious West next year and of course Gracie would like to see Kalgoorlie and Cottlesloe...

Hi Basil, it has been several years since I owned a German shepherd, my favourite breed by the way, but dont let my chihuahua know.

At that time you needed a permit to take them into Queensland. You might like to check with the German Shepherd Dog league NSW or German Shepherd Dog Council of Australia Inc.. They should have up to date information.

Hope you can find the way to take her with you.biggrin

Hi Basil,
Years ago you were not allowed to take an Alsation/German Shepherd into WA., but I believe the situation is different these days.  They were worried they would create "Super-dingo" crosses.
Cheers,
xina.

Hi Basil faulty there is no restriction on taking alsations across the border they will check for everything else though it was the tightest border check I have ever had in Aus they must have been bored that day and thought they would make us remove everything I've had less checked getting back into Australia. We stayed at great place just out of Albany no camping but you get a cottage and dogs are allowed inside and out and magic scenery. chezgo
