I had a good day today.... Fridge fan installed and extra TV antenna out put all completed on schedule and on time...

The pics speak for themselves. The solar panel for the fridge fan is ex a solar shed light and the fan is a 12 volt brushless one with a "Vapo" bearing whatever that is... Notice how I cleverly concealed the coax for the TV output by drilling into one of the internal cupboards and dropping the coax under the van only to reappear, many cable ties later, to behind the fridge which gave access to the Winegard panel which had a spare "2nd TV" socket to connect to...
Now a nice flat white on my new Aldi esspresso machine, a bex and a lie down just in time to cook a BBQ on my new Sunbeam electric Kettle BBQ which we bought as "redundant" stock from the good guys to take in the van with us, will allow us to leave frypan etc at home...

well done bazz, little bit of mucking around makes a lot more comfort, that fan, would I be right in assuming it is out of a computer, it looks the same as the extra one I just placed in my tower, hell a new espresso and a barby, bloody hell who's a spoilt boy then, how big is the kettle bbq, big enough for a decent roast, what time do you want me and grizz around, how much beer ya got, I just mucked around with the supply trailer, new you beut pull out table, made another table for the wash stand and installed a second battery and an 80 watt solar panel for lighting, getting ready to go down the murray for a while

So did I...Went  to the Caravan aboat show at Sandown racecourse today and had  a fabulous time...Bought nothing....But  the equiptment on show was unreal....The only problem I have is!!! That it mainly caters fgor the caravan park lodgers....I'd like to see a heap mor on off road camping eg.Solar panels and things...But  not to worry I now know I need at least 80 watts(Min) to run my car fridge and TV DVD VCR all day if needed.....$1100.00 for the lot..Not bad I thought

On a seriouse note your van systems look great well done.  As Dave says that little bit of extra work makes it more comfortable, good on ya.
Cheers Frank.

Hey Dave...sing out when your heading for the Murray. Might be able to have the camp fire glowing, a cold one close by , and raring to have a chat by the time you get there.

The BBQ is about 50cm dia and allegedly will do a decent roast though it is reccomended to use a "disposable foil" baking tray....
I had hoped someone would have noticed the trouble I went to to provided a dust and dirt cap for the TV outlet, that is the numba 1 cause of poor tv reception, dirty connections and to my knowledge not one of the Van manufacturers provde caps for their antenna inputs....
As to the amount of beer.....Well I'm a chap and chaps don't drink beer in any quantity, it's just so "common".....

love to grizz, possibly around end november early december, medium roast would do me and grizz real well, as for beer being so common, I must admit to (yawn!!) apealing to the lowest common denominator, dust cap, had it on my camper tv input for years, came off one of them steel camp kitchen leg thingys, mine just hasnt got a chain on it, doesnt matter cause it never comes off as I dont watch tv anyway. god, schedule and time jeez!!! what schedule what time, dont rush life, it will catch up regardless

The fan is 12 VDC. brand new.... was at my local recycling centre aka tip and a bloke truns up with a box of computer gear he intended to throw away, most of it in boxes never opened and some of it was from when I trained on computers 5.25 hard drives and floppy drives fans (obviously) heaps of good junk so I defied the ranger who is there to ensure nothing gets recycled and took the box...
I got a real buzz out of defying authority....

We are one of the only countries who do not recycle electronics out of old computers the majority just go into landfill ,we seem to have this hangup that it must be new and the latest. Most people update their electronics and mobile phones well ahead of there use by date , hence most of it is like new when it goes to landfill or is shipped off to the third world countries , just imagine the satellite phone thrown away today may be used by Bin Laden by Monday.
.
Turn the fan around and put them into a PVC pipe to make the ideal exhaust fan to suck fumes out the window when bench top soldering or Dremal sanding fishing lures
