Hoping to travel up North in May along the coast and wondering if there will be problems getting water. My wife's a bit worried too about the quality of the water because of the low levels in some towns. We live in Melbourne and stage 4 water restrictions will be introduced here if Autumn rains don't come, but we are a lot better off than other States.
G,day Dig, My wife and I left from Townsville on 7th Feb, and water is definately not in short supply in Nth Qld. We had over 600mm in the week before we left, and I was a bit worried about getting the van out of the yard. We have travelled from TSV to Brisbane via Emerald in central Qld, and everywhere is lovely and green. As you get closer to Brisbane, it gets drier, and stage 4 restrictions are in place around Bne but once you get up to the Sunshine Coast the restrictions are not so bad, (I washed the car and van with a bucket and a quick hose off at Coolum Beach). I believe that Nthn NSW is also pretty good, but don't know whats happening Sth of there. Just go and enjoy yourself, it gets better the further Nth you get
Thanks for the info. This will help knowing water situation not too bad. We are planning on a three month trip taking our time along the coast. We thought travelling between May and July would be a good time weather-wise.
