Depends on how you define 'unfriendly'. Devonport is apparently RV friendly - the footy ground down the road is less than $20 a night (I can't remember if it's 5 or 15 a night, there's a 5 in there though), with dump point. So in THAT regard, it's RV friendly.
However, the RV parking spot (there's only 1) in town is car-width, and not long enough to hold a big-rig. Two of the three CP's would struggle to get a big rig through the gate. Overnighting anywhere other than the footy ground previously mentioned or the CPs is frowned on, by residents, council and Johnny Law. And you can bet, everyone welcomes tourist $$$...... although from what I have seen in 30 years here, they prefer the kind who aren't self-contained, because they apparently spend more.
As with most things, it's 6 of 1, half a dozen of the other.
Tomorrow night 6.30pm Melbourne time CH7 TT about the unfriendly GN towns.....both sides of the story!!!!!
Thanks for the tip barina, was also posted in General after yours, great minds think alike!
as with most journalists these days-don't let the facts spoil a good story!!!
I will watch anyway just so I know what they said.

you can watch it on the ch7 website if you missed it.
we don't get TT up here so I had to tune in to Hunter valley prime to see it.
There are a few links floating around for a direct view of the item.
