Kings Canyon
(Preview)
Thanks for all the advice on looking after ourselves in King's Canyon. We stopped 3 nights and did the rim walk. Only 1 silly idiot (oriental) who kept going near the edge but otherwise it was superb. The entertainment at the Kings Canyon resort was brilliant and not to be missed. Also don't miss a t...

OASIS ROADHOUSE QLD
(Preview)
Number 239 in Camps 6. The Lynd Junction. I wouldn't recommend this one folks. The friends I was travelling with had rung to book in, and was told 'no need to book, there's plenty of room'. When we got there, there were only two powered sights left. It was a small-ish fenced area at the back of the roadhous...

Going crazy trying to become nomads - caravan advice
(Preview)
Hi Everyone. We (Tony and me - Sue) are about to hit the road out of town (in this case, the Gold Coast) for parts north, then maybe west, but sometime or another south...you get the drift. Thing is, we still haven't got the van. Heaps of looking - maybe too much. But we do want off road capabilities because...

I am tired of travelling alone
(Preview)
I am a retired Australian and for years dreamed of having a canal barge in France. I got my dream but because it is over 20 metres long I must have at least 2 people on board. I have tried everywhere to get people to travel with me without success. Hopefully I won't have put it on the market. Want a cheap and l...

Caravan Park monopoly?
(Preview)
I was recently chatting with a park manager and she dropped into the conversation that the three (3) caravan parks in Roma Qld are all owned by the same people! Just 3 different managers. So they all charge the same price and when they are all full - the showground gets the overflow and the fees there are a...

Working Nomads

(Preview)
Hi all. I'm grey and a nomad but am nowhere near pension age yet so to fund my travels I will have to work as I go. I've been in QLD about 6 weeks now, having jumped the ditch from NZ and done only one week of work so far, picking capsicums in Bowen at $1 a bucket. I made about $60 an 8 hour day, which was more than m...

For everyone traveling with an iPad/iPhone, there is a small free app put out by the West Australian Government called GP After Hours which, as the name suggests, makes finding a Doctor after hours simple with a few key strokes.
I do not know if other States have a similar app, you'll have to check the...
