Portable Electric Single or Double Hot Plates - Normal or Induction?

In regards to using portable electric hotplates, which is best, the normal type hotplate or the induction one? You pay a lot more for the induction one but is it worth it? PS: I also have a gas cannister stove for use when not on power, but am not comparing with that.
