Schmoodle puppy

hello everyone, strop and i are pondering whether to get a puppy. I like the look of an all caramel schmoodle. Does anyone have one, and if so, are there medical concerns. We are thinking of a small dog As we travel full time and mainly stay in showgrounds and free camps. And one we can afford to buy, not costing thousands. Any ideas?

Hi Rocket. I have a cavoodle. She was a rescued dog. I got here when she was 12 months old. Shes a really good traveller. She lets me know if there is anyone too near the van at night. As she has wool instead of fur when she malts it is just puffballs of black fur. Very easy to clean up. Shes a good listener, loves going for long walks in the fresh morning air and is such a good companion. Any breed with poodle in it usually means an intelligent dog so good luck with your moodle

I would recommend a Moodle ,very clever, hardly barks ,only when somebody knocks on door, no hair lying around ,but , cost's $ 75 every 4 month to get it cut. Cheers

Only problem I see Rocket, is that the "designer" dogs such as a Schmoodle, Moodle, Cavoodle and the like are generally over $1500 (rarely) upwards, and more likely to be $2500 + to buy.

Very, very rare to find as a rescue or giveaway.

Kathy and I like the Cavoodle, as we like Poodles, and Cavaliers. We have had a Miniature Poodle for 17 years, and MiL's Chihuahua for 16 years, but I am baulking at the cost of the Cavoodle, but I expect to be beaten down in the end, especially after we finish doing our longer first time travels to some areas we have yet to get to.

All the best, but I think it will be a difficult search.

Keep an eye on gumtree quite often there are dogs to give away or purchase for a few hundred dollars. Also a lot of the private dog rescue groups will have dogs whose owners have passed away or can no longer care for them. They usually have people that foster the dogs and get them used to different environments before they find their forever home. Good luck!

Hello everyone, will keep looking. Like the  ruby colour Toy poodle mixed with something else.  For me to b able to walk n hold onto the dog and lead with my rheumatoid arthritis its Maximum adult weight would need to b under 4kg. Anyway, for now,  Back to enjoying pictures on gooogle and enjoying others  dogs when we have happy hours. Thanks everyone for sharing.

I too would recommend a non shedding type. We have a shihtzu cross Maltese who doesn't shed. Just buy a set of clippers and give them a haircut every few weeks. About once a year he goes for a proper clip and I maintain the rest of the time.
