We camped up at a road house on Hume Hwy about 30 minutes from ferry boarding. It is last major road house before Melborne. Can't remember the name for the life of me. Need to go on a toll way though. Reckon it was worth the money. Neil

HI all, talking about a Tassie trip... as it will be my first experience confuse biggrin cry..... and I will be travelling south from Camden NSW towards Melbourne to go to Tassie on the Ferry.

This may sound an unusual request but .... I'd like to ask if anyone can tell me: A quick way to get to the departure point of the ferry from NSW & has anyone found any free camps close to where the boat departs please? Gwynnie floating.gif

Hi Gwynnie - are you going night or morning? The above one is possibly the only free one, except for an overnighter (sort of unofficial) at The Boulevarde at Port Melbourne, easy access off the West Gate Freeway via Todd Road, , you will come to a beach, with houses opposite, lots of people in their

vans stay there overnight, straight run to the ferry from there "

Go on Google Maps - put in The Boulevard, Port Melbourne - follow map round to the ferry

Park overnight in any of the beach side car parks along Beaconsfield Parade just a couple of minutes from the terminal. Everyone else does.
