Electro battery protector and and

Has anyone had problems with their battery protector,a few weeks ago I altered the voltaage setting to 12volt just as a precaution for the batteries as I have had to replace them both recentl. But for the last two nights it as tripped out on the 12volt setting when I check the voltage on the bms it tells me it is 12-6volts.When I put the voltage setting to 11 volt it starts up again but it cuts out when switching back to 12volt setting does it mean that the protector is faulty do I have to replace the unit or leave on 11volts my batteries are saying 12.6 12.7 so batteries are ok . It only happened at night hence no solar going In so in full sun it did not cut out now this morning it has cut off noticed very little sunlight this morning . Any info would be great . Thanks Trevor

Were you using power when it tripped? Perhaps your lights, TV, etc were on?

Yes lights were on compressor fridge were on just tripped for no reaso. This morning checked batteries only -1voltage drop to bms so last night reading of 12-6v was near enough correct no were near 12 volts . Will not run on 12 v setting at all but ok on 11 volt setting . Checked batteries with multi meter all ok . Thinking the protector unit maybe stuffed .

Check for dirty/ bad connections. could be the cause of voltage drop under load

First place is the battery terminal,s themselves ,make sure both the posts & lug connection/contact  faces are clean bright metal

Easy to check if the protector is faulty. connect multi to protector sensing input, apply load to battery & watch to see at what voltage the protector trips

If you can get two multi meters connect one directly to the battery, to also see what the actual battery voltage is @ the trip point

hi
Many of the ""better"" Low volt disconnects have delay timers either fixed or adjustable . Disconnect will not sense and potentially operate till after eg 1min ]. This gives the time for the volts to rise sufficiently .
A light will not surge but a compressor will .
At least 4.5mmsq cable =6mmauto no longer than 6mtrs
Small cable is a volt choke point
Lvd sounds faulty if everthing else is ok
