Top End Trip September 2017

We've just arrived back from a 3 week trip to Darwin & the Top End. We flew Virgin & hired an SUV to explore the area with. We did a similar trip at the same time last year.

We stayed for 3 nights at the following locations:  Darwin CBD

                                                                         Mary River Wilderness Retreat

Aurora Kakadu Resort South Alligator River

                                                                         Cooinda Lodge Yellow Water

                                                                         Pine Creek Railway Resort

                                                                         Manbulloo Station Cabins Katherine

Billabong House Mt Bundy Station Adelaide River

We then stayed 1 night in Darwin CBD before flying back home to Melbourne. It was certainly more relaxing than dragging our caravan all the way up there. We did 2,000kms in our hire car. The scenery, wildlife & plant life were fantastic. We walked almost every track available, this was counteracted by dining out & a bottle of wine every night. laughing.gif

Here are a few images from our trip. Thanks for viewing.

Great photos, DD, beautiful birds. Check out the website for Bustard Downs (we are currently caretaking) Birdwatchers paradise. WE had one camper here this week saw 61 species in four days. He was ecstatic! Best of all are the Bustards, who are courting at the moment.....

We're doing a 3 week fly/hire car trip to Cairns/Atherton Tablelands next year (second time). We got the Bustards at Maryfarms last time.

We'll be staying at Kingfisher Park which has over 200 species. Bustard Downs sounds great!     http://www.bustarddowns.com.au/

World class quality work and photos. Somehow or other you need to get reward and recognition for your devotion I say. Please keep a look out for eclectus parrots, should you see any and you remember this please contact me. They are one beautiful bird.
