MPC tyres

Hi All,

I have a fairly new van that is fitted with MPC tyres, has anyone had longer term experience with them?

MPC appears to be a van wheel brand. No mention of tyres. However MPC does operate of the caravan area in Melbourne's North. Looks like they may supply a van & tyre combination to the van businesses in the area.

 Hi Vince56

Just checking as such? MPC is that marked on a tyre?

Our van has PC on the wheels hub caps standing for Peston Chassis. Supplier of chassis to the caravan industries.

I just google MPC, I only think by what I saw maybe connect to G&S chassic the other main chassis supplier to the caravan industry.

MPC are in Melbourne and looks like a supplier of wheels and tyres to the trailer industry.

Did not find though google a branded tyre with MPC on the tyre.

Hi Radar
Yes it is MPC on the tyres, they make wheels and tyres in China, sold in Campbellfield.
I spoke to them some time ago re the tyres' durability and (of course) they say they are a good highway tyre, which is all I need.
I was after some reassurance from current owners that these tyres are OK for long hauls, they seem a strongly made tyre with 106 load and 8PR so must have a heavy case construction I would think. The tread is very deep also.
Cheers Vince

Vince, you get what you pay for.  Spend a bit more and peace of mind.  My brother is a diesel mechanic and said 'he wouldn't touch them as he seen the thread ripped off after 10,000 k's.

106 load rating means that the total load of one tyre should be 950 Kg or less

If the weight of your fully loaded caravan, is approaching, or greater than 1,900 Kg on each axle, then stronger tyres are required

Can you let us know how those tyres go in the future, so that we can make a comparison

As they came on your new van you will not get them replaced free. You may as well use them out. Just keep an eye on them for cracking. If you are a low mileage user replace them when they reach 6 - 7 years old.
