WA police puzzled by SOS mystery in remote area.........

An SOS sign spotted by a helicopter pilot flying over a remote and inaccessible part of northern Western Australia has sparked fears a person or group of people could be missing.

One can only hope this doesn't end up tragically. But it doesn't look good.

Have just posted re an app that I and just about everyone I know has on their phone now - called Emergency +, is invaluable, uses gps technology - this is just the situation where it is needed. When you hit the 000 (for instance) your co-ordinates, address (where you are) and map, is sent to the authorities - if they can't ring you - there will be an alert out to authorities in the area. I personally would send it a couple of times, so they know it is genuine.

I always carry a gps EPIRB in the vechile and boat also a personal one when going trekking.
I reckon it's money well spent, what price do you put on your life.

That's a very good idea Dannell,

I've been looking into the price of these units recently,  and I'm quite surprised how cheap they are to buy,

only a couple of hundred Bucks on Evil Bay,  and well worth the money,  I will be ordering one before our next trip away.   biggrin
