Goodbye To A Beautiful Girl

Just returned home to Melbourne from a 5 week trip along the Coorong to the Murray Mouth at Goolwa. We spend a total of 6 months away on trips per year, always taking our lovely Boxer Sally with us.

Her health had been slowly declining for the past year & a half, she was 13 years old which is very old for a Boxer. We've had three boxers over the past thirty years.

We wanted to get her home before visiting the Vet but unfortunately we had to have her put down at Goolwa. She was a wonderful loving companion & we miss her so much. God bless you Sally.

Sorry to hear of your loss Desert Dweller, I do know the feelings when an old pet, who has become part of the family, dies

We have had two dogs, and four cats over the years, who had passed on, after fairly lengthy lives

You have my sympathy. It is so heartbreaking. My old girl was 17 and having her put down was the hardest thing I have ever had to do,so I can imagine what you are going through.

All the best and sorry to hear of the loss of your girl! I can really understand what you are feeling after recently having to do the same thing for our Greyhound. All the best

Our condolences on the loss of your dear Sally. It's very hard to bear when we lose our furry children.

So sorry for your loss. I remember the pain of losing a pet and dread the time it happens to me again.

So sorry for your loss. I do know how you will be feeling.
I lost my beautiful little Daisy just 10 days ago.
It breaks my heart, she only turned 2 in January. After numerous times on anti inflammatories and no improvement it was found she had a serious bone condition that could not be fixed successfully. I had to make that choice that none of us want to make.

Sorry for your loss, nothing worse than having to make that decision.

Our last two dogs, Toby and Dennis are still with us, they rest in our bookcase, I visit them most days. Toby came down with cancer so we had him put to rest, poor little Dennis went deaf and then either came down with alzheimers or a brain tumor, it's a terrible thing watching a dog lose his mind.

After owning dogs all my life and working with them for most of my working life I can't decide what is cutest, a pup or a geriatric dog???
