Seabird W A get together sept 22 /26 September 2017

Pencil this in again for this year. As per usual come when you can..be it earlier or just for a day trip. It is a long weekend over here. Leave whenever you want.Weekend has been known to go for a couple of weeks!! Happy for you to use us a base whilst you sightsee, go into Perth etc. Pet ftiendly and we will even babysit your fur baby if required.

.Not much has changed. You meed to be reasonably self sufficient We have water and a septic loo and dump point but no showers or power.  Kettle is always on and bikkie tins will full. A couple of shared meals ;maybe a bacon and egg roll breaky one day. Maybe a fish and chip meal who knows at this point.  Will post more closer to the time.

Anyone passing by in the meantime dont be shy, call in and have a cuppa at least. We are just off Indian Ocean Drive which is the coast road from Perth to Gero.

Hello Sue and Phil

Not sure where I will be in September, but if I am in WA, then I shall certainly try and get there, as I certainly enjoyed myself last year

Hope that I am not being too cheeky by saying, thank you for the invite

Hope you will be there Tony - be good to meet you and your lady. I will thank you personally for the stops for my pot drawer etc., - you should patent them and sell them on flea bay or the like!

You will just have to be back in the state by then Tony. If I promise to leave some rubbish around will that tempt you to come back?

Would love to be there Sue if we can and finally meet you both. We have read so much about your great gatherings and super hospitality, so unless something drastic happens you can count us in.

Err ...

I was reading this earlier this morning, while having my WeetBix, not looking what I was doing, had a chuckle, and I managed to upend everything over the keyboard

yawn Good job I have a sense of humour, but not sure what I can do for an encore yawn

No need to leave any rubbish for me, Sue
It was my pleasure to go to a camp that had no rubbish laying around

You have already thanked me in another post jules47, and I had to wear a larger size hat for a few days

I do not think that there would be a market for longer drawer striker plates.

You were probably unfortunate that someone had not set your drawer runners correctly, or perhaps your runner rollers are wearing out.

Do not know the correct terminology as I am not a wood working person

I am sure that someone with woodworking skills will be able to sort it out in the future, if/when the longer striker plate wears out.

We will be coming over for the wildflowers this year (from Sydney) and would love to come and see you. It would be nice to meet up with some GNs who we know well on this forum but have never met. Fingers crossed our timing works out. Margaret Ron and Rohan

Hmmm, definitely interested, thanks for the invitation. I'm planning to be crossing the Nullarbor around July/August so should be well over that way by September. Will know closer to the date.

Cheers

Fantastic, Jules, will be great to catch up with you and Billeeeeeee again - if not on the road then at Seabird. I'm looking forward to my first Nullarbor crossing and aiming to be at Head of Bight around the end of July for some whale watching.

Cheers,
Joe

A great free camp at Head of Bight, right at the entrance gate - nothing there but a shed - but good level sites, - pretty quiet, off the highway a fair way.

Love crossing the Nullarbor - see you in WA!

It was lovely to see you again and to meet your friends. Thank you for the hole digging. As for that little fluff ball, she is just beautiful and she can come back anytime she wishes. Feeding her cheese at happy hour and sausages at teatime isn't spoiling her!! Tracey came home from work and the first thing she said was where is my dog!!Did Marionette steal her?

Carol and I called in to see Sue and Phil yesterday on the way back to Perth from Cervantes, Sue had made scones for morning tea along with a variety of home made jams including Lilly Pilly, very yummy.

Well worth considering the get together for anyone travelling in WA, local or otherwise, or a call in to catch up.

Thanks for the hospitality Sue and Phil, not sure about September yet but definitely on our calendar if possible and to catch up with old and new faces.  biggrin

Thanks Vic it was great to catch up, Hope Carol is feeling better. Nothing worse than coming down with the lurgy when you finally get away for a few days. Was supposed to give Carol some Dhu Fish. It is still in the freezer!!

Kiwi-As is arriving on Monday for a few days. Will be good to put another couple of faces to names.

It was a privilege to visit Sue, I hope you had a good Mothers' Day.

Carol was picked up by one of her daughters and spent the day over at her other daughters place which she enjoyed.

I had to spend part of the day over at the Morris Hotel with my brother in time to see Freo beat Richmond with an after the siren kick that won them the day, my ears are adjusting to the cheers etc.  Some Richmond fans there had started to celebrate what they thought was their victory only to be beaten by the last kick, their cheers turned to moans as it was not to be, lol !

Sorry we missed out on the Dhu fish, it would have been nice, but thanks for the thought.

Hi Sue

Never been to Seabird is it a camp site? Sounds as though it is but how big is it and how much does it cost a night? Sounds as though a lot of people go so would love to meet up with others from this site and put faces to names.

Cheers Chris

Dizzy10 - Seabird is a private camp, the hosts are Sue, Phil and Tracey - the property is their home, and they welcome travellers. Couple of acres, bore water from taps all over the place, as well as a dump point and a flush toilet. There is a donation tin for you to use, if you choose. Also a washing machine and line ($3 load).

Great hosts on a great property who will make you most welcome.

Come to the get together in September, and meet some other travellers - we will be there.

Hi Sue, Phil and Tracey

Thanks for the info about your GN get-together in September - looks lovely and relaxed, and it's high time we visited your side of the country again anyway!
Not sure whether we'll be there for the actual weekend though as our dates are dependent on a few things - will be in touch closer to the time.
(And as we are about-to-start GNers, I'll need to get you to show me how to get the most out of this great forumbiggrin).

Robyn and Kevin x
