So do a few other parks in some areas - i.e. Coober Pedy - and a motel in Walgett NSW locked their gate at about 9pm,, gave you a key if you went out.

That's because Tennant Creek, Coober Pedy and Walgett CPs all need locked gates.

Along with quite a few others unfortunately.

Stayed in Coober Pedy several years back now - had a camper trailer - so not much security. Decided to leave when some young guys climbed into some caravans via the roof hatch, and stole phones and other stuff. They were caught still in town, by the police - they were going through peoples phones - pretty obvious. Am very conscious of closing the hatch on the MH now.

Stayed at the Walgett free camp a couple of times now. Great facility. No hint of any problems. Thanks Walgett.
