Staying beside a river or lake

Hi all,

Hubby and I discussing about when we do go on the big lap end next year, the subject came up about if you see a nice place near a river or lake if you can park the van.....Question is, as it would come under some council is there a limit how long you can stay there?  or do you have to move after a week or so even if its just a 100 yards lol.  Thank you

Depends on local council rules ? Or more the point the ranger . I've had a ranger come up to me and ask how long we've been here . As we are totally self contained . Keep things tidy he left us alone . Over in WA at national parks . No overnight stays unless area is set out for camping . Then it's a charge., one tip . Camp late .. Move early !'
