Hi Yo Silver, Away! Glen Campbell's Superb Guitar work in his younger days, William Tell Overture..Enjoy.

Country Music Star Glen Campbell 79 is suffering Alzheimer's, and tragically no longer remembers what a guitar is for..his wife of 33 years Kim, says he has also lost 'muscle memory'

in his hands and now lives in Care Home in Florida with visits from her and his 8 children.

Glen was one of the most 'in demand' Studio Guitarist's in the 1960's before launching his singing career...

How good was he?....here he plays 'William Tell Overture' in tribute to 'The Lone Ranger & Tonto'....his boyhood heroes.......

Kinda' makes us all resolve to enjoy TODAY as we have no idea what tomorrow may bring........enjoy........

Rich, talented, famouse,he had everything and it's not worth a thing without health which is more important then any amount of talent.

It's a shame to have everything but the thing that is worth much more in the end eh...

so I guess in theme of things some of us are better off in the long run than the rich and famouse but gee he was good ...

We were very privileged to see Glen perform at Horden Pavilion, old Showgroungs Sydney early seventies, it was a real treat.

His performance was pure brilliance, towards the end of the show he did the William Tell, on each side of the stage he had movie screens showing a stage coach being chased by Indians on horse back, the audience was in raptures. Glen played so many instruments that night to name a few bagpipes, banjo, ukulele, paino and there was more and sung to boot.

I think he really enjoyed entertaining, such a pleasure to be in the same room. A big thank you Glen Campbell.

It was probably around the year 2000 it become the norm for entertainers to have a movie or similar running while they sing, Glen I feel sure in saying he was first and  the leader in being a entertainer with the whole act. Keith Urban did it, if I sat down and thought about it I would be able to name a few others.

For the sake of accuracy, the Lone Ranger's response when called on was "Hi Ho Silver, away!"smile

I agree accuracy is important.....All the US Dell Books/Comics featuring the Lone Rangers Horse had 'Hi Yo Silver' as per this photo...there has always been much conjecture since Steve Allen used to say HI HO Silver on his popular TV show years later.....many have said if the Lone Ranger said' Hi Ho' he would have sounded like 'Santa"...how ironic is that?....

The more important question of course was 'Did the Lone Ranger wear his mask in bed each night?'.....In an interview in the 1960's Tonto confirmed that The LOne Ranger did indeed wear it each night in bed.....therefor the 'most important' question I believe should be..how did Tonto know?....?.....he never saw Paleface?......I believe he did hear the Lone Ranger mutter 'Hi Yo and Hi Ho its off to work I go'...whilst in bed......LMAO...Hoo Roo
