Not during the hotter months,we travel during the cooler months and take no notice of the prevailing winds

We went through end of March . Yes I would keep away the two or three months of summer . Although the coast road i would assume is cooler through night with maybe sea breezes ? I REALLY enjoyed the 5 day trip or time spent there .. Having SO many say it's a pain .. I think looking back ? Some havnt actually done it., Or on a mission to get to Perth .

I love crossing the Nullarbor - done it a few times now - so much to see, some great spots to camp - roads are good, roadhouses are - well roadhouses - done it east to west, west to east, different times of the year - all good!

Gday gang

We went over in April this year. Bit of a headwind east to west on some days and a tail wind on the other side. Roads in good nick except the great eastern highway east of Northam, more lumps and bumps than my wife's gravy. At one stage we had the van bouncing a bit. Thats a bit of a disgrace for the WA roads, other than that a great trip.

We were surprised with Mundrabilla roadhouse, stayed at the caravan park and had good hot long showers (not bore water) I suggest recycled water and a peaceful sleep. Nullarbor roadhouse was great, the food was brilliant as was the service. When we went over we heard that the diesel at Mundrabilla had water in it. However when we arrived there were trucks lined up at the fast fill, so go figure. We didnt risk it.

Whatever you do, dont get coffee at Ballidonia.. tasted like kerosene. Diesel varied from $1.20 at Penong to $1.68 at Balledonia.

Safe travels
