goldstar auction

G'day all, new member to all these caravanning forums!

Trying to source some info on these auctions goldstar is planning on having, been hearing about them for the last couple weeks but cant find barely any info on them. Anyone heard anything or know anything about them?

We've been looking into goldstar RV for a while and are fairly confident in the vans themselves, now we're just aiming to pick one up for the perfect price.

Thanks all

My understanding is that these vans are made in China under the supervision of an Australian who was in the caravan trade for several years. Anyway, that is the spiel on their website. They seem to be really good value.

In relation to the auction I think they stockpile so many and then have an auction with no reserve price

My only concern would be their resale value. It is usually the case that when one purchases anything that is retailing new for much less than it's competition then the sting comes when one tries to sell it or trade it later on.

Welcome to the gang, enjoy here and out in the playground.

I went to Adelaide 2014 to look at these vans and came away veeeeery disappointed. Not the quality for full time travel, no where near, IMO.

Have a look in the Dedicated Owners section of the "Caravanners Forum".

There are some good unbiased comments from owners detailing their experiences in ordering, delivery, warranty and use of the Goldstar vans.

I make no other, apart from the fact they are also available in other states under several different names.

I also think one of the owners, under the pseudonym Papou is a member here.

Hello everyone and thankyou all for your replies

we have certainly done our research on the brand and the quality of the vans, and although their earlier models didnt appeal to us, i must say we are very impressed with their newer 2015+ models.
it is our understanding from what we have seen online and through word of mouth that a few people have had a few issues crop up with their new vans. however from my understanding this is not an exclusive issue for goldstar, as several people we know have had issues with brand new australian made vans (jayco...)

so we reckon if we are able to pick up one of their new vans for less than their retail,, which is already quite low, it would be an opportunity to good to pass on.
what we are really after now is information relating to the auction, as they have very minimal on their site. eg dates, models available, how the bidding system works etc etc. we have subscribed to their newsletter regarding the auction however have not yet recieved any information on it.
