Borefield Rd, SA

We're wondering if it's possible to tow a 23' van with cruisemaster airbag suspension from Roxby Downs to Lyndhurst via the Oodnadatta Track and Borefield Rd. Our tow vehicle is a Toyota Sahara Landcruiser. Otherwise we'd have to go the long way round.

Thanks in advance

It would depend on the condition of road at the time you wished to travel and the willingness to drive slowly - We have always gone through there with our off road camper trailers travelling between 60 -70 kph. Personally, I would be concerned about gravel damage to the air bags. The van will normally go wherever the tug goes - it then is up to you to work out how long you want to take to traverse the distance. Best advice would be check with locals when in area.

The Borefield Road is usually OK as it is maintained by Roxby.
Gravelly though, as is the whole route.

Cheers,
Peter

Thank you Possum3 and Peter. We'll phone ahead for road conditions. The other issue was safety driving through the aboriginal land. Did either of you experience any incidents?
