Biggenden Budget Camp Trial

I am camped here tonight in the old railway yards which the town has opened up for a 12 month trial. They are charging $5 a night. Envelope and list of rules are supplied at the gate.

There are no facilities except toilets outside the gate. The area is huge, would accommodate loads of self contained vans, motorhomes etc.

They ask for all shopping dockets from the town to be popped in to the envelope with the $5 a night. 48 hours Max.

Now you've got me confused John, and I used to live here. Edward I think it is, the town side beside the public toilets and across the road from the pub.

Great initiative by the town council. We would definitely support this concept.
Would like to many more of the regional towns follow suit.

We stayed at the Monto Railyards as well - couple of months ago now. Excellent spot - walked across to the pub for a meal - had pies from the bakery, and the best loaf of bread I have had for years. They mix the leftover brown dough and white dough together, put grains over it, and bake it! Took me back to my childhood - brother was an apprentice baker - used to make us brown and white ducks, or elephants, hot from the oven for breakfast!!!!

Had a drive up that way Saturday checking free sites and towns I have not been in for a while. Very large area and two vans there. Beer at the pub across the street was icy cold, shame I could only have one.

Sign above the bar entance is a good one.
