Sapphire to Mackay

Currently in Sapphire and would like to go via Rubyvale, Capella, Dysart, 'Cosmos' I think it is a property on the Fitzroy Dev. Road and then north to Mindi on the Peak Downs Highway and then into Mackay. I would like to know if all of the roads are sealed.

Have just done Nebo to Dingo - great road. Sealed all the way. Fitzroy Dev road. Not a lot of traffic - mostly mine utes and a few trucks.

Did the trip today from Sapphire to a freecamp spot about 5km short of the Peak Downs Hwy right next to a telstra tower on the Fitzroy Dev Road. It is one of those areas where main roads store gravel. As Spida said, a few cars and trucks going back to the mines, but otherwise, quiet.

25km east of Capella is gravel road all the way except for the last 18km into Dysart. Some of the sealed section of that road is single lane only and had to pull over twice to let wide loads from Dysart to pass me.

Overall, the road is not bad, a little undulating at times, but not much traffic (it is a Sunday).

Here is a little hill I saw on the wayDSC_0021.JPG
