RESCUE PLAN FOR CARAVAN SWAY

I have posted this on another site as well to gain further comments,

I have a query regards van has gone into 'Sway/Yaw' .

Scenario: Travelling @ 90kph van goes into sway,  van has electric brakes, no ESC.

What is the save and correction procedure.

Please only comments from past experience or someone who has been 'schooled' in this Scenario, will appreciate replies, cheers.

I agree with blaze, a quick tap on the over ride will do the trick, then slow down a bit..

Cheers

X2. Do not try and accelerate your way out. Unless you have a vehicle capable to doing the 1/4 mile in under 10 secs, you will make it worse. Also ignore the temptation to apply the brakes on the tug.

Then pull up and start shifting things around to re balance your van,to try and kill the sway.

Hi Guys

I was wondering if the van was favouring one side over the other, for example when it starts does it always sway the same way. My reason is if it is favouring one side over the the other then you may have a loading issue causing it to move that way or it could be a suspension issue or even tyre pressure. Regardless, you may be able to track down the issue or at least provide some info to a repairer.

More importantly best of luck and when you find out lets us know.

Get a 5th wheeler that will fix any sway issues

Seriously though it is usually a loading / balance problem fix that should help lots

Thanks to all for your advice,

I haven't had a problem, was just enquiring in the advent of this situation arising, one good bit of advice is to trial with manual brake setting/lever [practise], from time to time, in the advent of it arising there would be no panic, good idea, cheers
