Prepare now for storms in parts of the Great Southern, Goldfields Midlands and Midwest Gascoyne W.A. (UPDATED SUN 21ST)

Saturday 20 June 2015 - 4:03 PM

If you live in an area bounded by Israelite Bay to Balladonia to Menzies to Meekatharra to Carnegie to Forrest to Eucla you need to prepare your home and family now for the storms coming tomorrow.

This includes people in Meekatharra and Eucla and surrounding areas,

STORM/THUNDERSTORM/WEATHER DETAILS:
As at 3.22pm on Saturday 20 June 2015 the Bureau of Meteorology advises the passage of a trough will produce gusty northwest winds across the region during Sunday ahead of a cooler, gusty westerly change with showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Northwest winds will increase during Sunday morning from about 10am and gusts may reach 100 kilometres per hour which could cause DAMAGE TO HOMES AND PROPERTY.
Winds will ease from the west during the day but showers and isolated thunderstorms will then move through the area and damaging winds and moderate rainfall may occur with thunderstorms.
Areas of blowing dust are possible in the South Interior and eastern parts of the Eucla District prior to the rain commencing.
Conditions will ease during Sunday evening.
The overall weather pattern is unusual for this time of year and severe weather may occur in some parts of the warning area.

Be careful if you are towing a caravan in these areas, be aware of sudden side winds near Eucla,

Take care People, We would love to see you arrive here in the West, but not in a pine box. crycrycry

It is a tad wet up here. Had nearly 2 inches of rain over 24 hrs. Now down in Joondalup (we are on grand parent duty at 6am and this little black duck wasn't getting up at 4am!!.) Bloody hell.... big thunder clap directly overhead, whole house shook...very tempted to join the dog under the bed!!

"Yep"  It's been a bit on the wet side ( 20km South of Perth ) as well,  I found a 40l plastic container in the back yard almost half full of rain water, if that's anything to go by, we must have copped around 100 mm of rain !!!

Not much thunder here though, The Daughter living in Huntingdale, ( about 10km away ) said they got a real good hammering from the thunder, plus loads of hail as well.

This should make the Farmers happy, now they can see their crops come alive, probably bring on the Wild Flowers as well, biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin
