Is there any free camping at all in or near Bowen. I understood there is not but after reading one of the facebook groups discussion today I'm not sure now. Someone on there said there is a 16 hour stop over but never said where even though I asked.
I need to spend a day or two there in a couple of week to catch up with a cousin I haven't seen for years.
Hi there is a free camp at Guthalungra About 43 klm north of the Collinsville turn off on the right hand side of the road there is a service station and across the road on the same side has the service station is the free camp shower at servo for a fee . A bit out of the way if you are going to Collinsville free camp at the Showgrounds hot showers 72 hours we stayed there last year

Bowen is a great town and a tourist town it would make lots of money from these people than they ever would from Grey nomads free camping , Has a grey nomad I like to free camp but don't knock a place because they don't have free camping , You can't free camp in Sydney and lots of people go there .
