Thanks for the swift response, I need you to understand that i am willing and ready to purchase it right away as i really appreciate the price stated in the AD, however i will like you to re-confirm the price by stating it in your return e-mail for verification, possibly

 

have more pictures of it, put it off the AD site and consider me as your favorite buyer as i am buying this for my Dad and due to the

As for the payment..i can only pay via the fastest and secure way to pay online i.e (PayPal) here, as i do not have access to my bank

 

account online,but i have it attached to my pay pal account, and this is why i insisted on using pay pal to pay. I have a private courier agent that will come for the pick up after the payment has been made ...so no shipping included and With the issue of my details,transferring the name of ownership and signing of all paperwork will be done by the courier services company agent so

 

you don't have to worry about that as I will be providing you with my drivers licence. It will be so sweet if you can send me your PayPal email now so i can pay in right away and also include your address in your reply as i don't really have much time on here.If you don't have a paypal account, you can easily set up one...log on to www.paypal.com.au and sign up its very easy but if you don't feel like signing up, just get back to me with your bank details... i would have loved to talk to you on phone but i work mainly on the sea and our phone network is down on the sea right now due to bad stormy weather, that was why i sent you a text, i even wonder how my message delivered to your phone but for now we can only communicate through the same mailing channel.await your reply asap.

Let Gumtree know and they will block this account, it won't stop this scammer but just make things inconvenient, as they will just open another account in another name.
Gumtree try to protect you and if you follow their guidelines you will be fairly safe.
You can see from this buyers reply that he now wants to do business outside of Gumtree as he knows that Gumtree is active in filtering these sorts of scams.
How this scam usually works, is you will receive an email supposedly from Pay Pal informing you that there is a payment in your account and then you get another email from the buyer saying he has paid you and has also put in extra to pay the agent and can you please transfer this amount to the agents account, if you do this you will never see your money again.
If you do want to reply to these buyers just say your terms are cash only on pickup and at this point they give up.

Sus for sure. I had a oil rig one as well Jack. Only took a short time to relise it was as you put it, BS. I emailed back from a different email addy saying I was onto him and was a Detective in the Fraud Squad.

We had about 3 similar ones within the first hour of listing our old van.  'Is this vehicle still for sale?'  'Please send pictures.'  when there were 9 pictures on the ad.  'Too busy to ring you'.  Then when a couple of 'real' people came along we were very dubious.  What an innocent life we must lead.  smilesmilesmile

Hi,

The same happen to us, within few hours of putting our van on Gumtree, received a SMS " is your van still for sale? please contact by email , after that we receiving an email with "her" details " Laura Williams" working on an oil rig with licence number attached  We got suspicious and "Google" her name , it came up  with SCAM , the same with the licence number -

We forward the email to  www.scamwatch.gov.au 

Very hard to trust anyone .
