Chinese technology

Does anyone have first hand experience, good or bad, of using chinese bearings & brake components on vans. We need to service ours and are keen to hear from others.

I've used Chinese made Timken bearings in 6X4 trailers plus my Avan Cruiser with no problems. From what I've observed, bearing failure is more to do with lack of maintenance and/or poor installation than country of origin.
Good Luck

I would suggest that  a fair percentage of the bearings in the cars we drive today may have been made in China.

Brand reputation is a better indication of quality that country of origin.
Some of the best stuff made anywhere comes out of China.

Cheers,
Peter

I have worked in Russia  many times and in many of the former  states and used Russian bearings rebuilding machinery. No problems.

Maybe the ones you refer to  were packed in a China because of some sort of trade agreement.

If the specification is as required they should be ok  from my experience.

most goods, including mechanical and electrical are made in China. Most Japanese quality products are made in China eg - Toshiba laptops (regarded as a top quality unit), Toyota vehicles shipped to most countries.

Quality = price. If its cheap, it doesn't matter where its made, its probably garbage

Now that MacDonalds has opened up in China, labour is not so cheap anymore and many multi-nationals are moving to Vietnam - Nike, Addidas have completely closed down in China and moved to Vietnam, because of cheap labour (and no, the retial prices don't come down....their profits go up)

Hi, We have used Super Cheap Holden HT bearings since 2008 China Made. Towing 6Mtr Boat/tamden 1870kg total trailer, Sydney - Exmouth WA return,  x 2008- 2010 - 2012- 2014 with no bearing failures.

One blowen tyre over same period. Run Kenda 9 x 600 tyres at 55psi cold.
