Goldetectornomad's gold nugget arrived yesterday when I was in Port Macquarie for the CT scan of my jaw. Goldie says it's lucky because he found it next to the skin of a big brown snake... only he didn't realize it was only the skin at first, and when he saw it after digging for the nugget, he skyrocketed about 6 foot. Well, what a coincidence! On the way back from Port, I took the coast road down to Laurieton. At a place called Lighthouse Beach, Tacking Point, I was photographing the beach when a couple of young girls warned me about a big brownie that had slithered into the grass just behind where I was standing (and had been walking just moments before). One of the girl's said it was 10 foot long (perhaps a bit of an exaggeration, but still...). So Goldie was right!
He also wanted to give me an idea of just how difficult prospecting for gold is so he wrapped this one in enough bubblewrap and sticky tape to cover the Queen Mary. Took me all bloody day to unravel the damn thing. Anyway, thanks a million, Goldie. Much appreciated, and I hope the luck continues through the surgery on my gob and well beyond. I took a pic of the nugget to show folks its size.
Gotcha! It's only a little toy Nikon... one of those USB thingies.
Good on you Gary, all the best with the future,,, Julie and me , just bought a gold detector , today from Vida,, (Spida ) have no idea how to use it ,,, but looks like a heap of fun ,,,,I will use it, and Julie will dig for the gold , or what ever,,,,,a very excited Billeeeeeee
Keep the detector away from Jules' purse, Billeeeeeee. I'm a novice too but goldetectornomad has a smaller detector he's gonna let me use when we go prospecting. The bigger one he uses requires two hands which is a bit of a worry. Leaves nothing to hold a stubby with.
I'm really glad you like it Gary, and that it helps bring every success/luck with your Op.....you had me going there for a moment with that photo!....thought I had inadvertantly sent its larger brother 2/3rd Oz in a Senior moment...lol..... Gary the other detector you can use is a,light to carry, Garrett Infinium LS <Land and Sea> and you can also dive to 200m with it if you have a mind to......fantastic on relics and coins/rings etc at the beach....don't have to go to the goldfields to find "treasure"....under every kids swing in every play ground....following the Country Show circuit the day after the show has left..the $1 and $2 coins down side show alley are everywhere as they fall out of pockets on the rides!...at the Showground,......beaches in the evenings, when the tide goes out and folk have left......rings drop off shrunken fingers in the first metre of where the tide was....watches/goodies fall out of wrapped towels in the sand...yes, I have helped folk find their lost property as well..anything valuable can be handed into local Police..at least the original owners get a chance to recover their items....old Military sites from WW2 will provide some interesting relics.......I have detected round Graytown near Rushworth Vic adjacent to Heathcote/Rushworth National Park.., it was the site of the WW2 POW site for German and Italian prisoners...the bases of the ablution blocks and Nissan Huts are still there as is the perimeter wire laying in the grass........the German prisoners from the 'Raider' Kormoran which tragically sank the HMAS Sydney were interned there for some 4 years during WW2 and after...the prisoners also used to dig for gold and their diggings are everywhere as well....they didn't even dig themselves out so obviously having too much fun finding gold........we can live in hope they buried some of their treasures...and forgot where..?
Have I whet your appetite Gary?...?..we wouldn't be dead for quids..would we?....get your self well, and we''ll be out there mate.....you can remove the kids from their swings whilst I detect underneath........lol...lmao....all the best...Hoo Roo
